You don't realize how long you've been holding your breath until you actually release it.  There I was in the doctor’s office with my daughter and the Captain of my Heart – because “boyfriend” feels absurd at my age, waiting for my fate to be delivered to me - our relief could have been bottled and sold as vintage wine. 🍷 Now what? Hello there! πŸ‘‘ Welcome to my blog – the land of honesty, sarcasm and spontaneous swearing; the kind of truth that only an F-bomb can deliver. Buckle up, here we go… Plot Twists, Cancer loves them Apparently my body got bored and decided to throw in a plot twist: cancer. Not the kind of surprise I had on my vision board, but here we are. Before you clutch your pearls — relax. I plan on handling this with equal parts sarcasm, cocktails, and the occasional ugly cry (probably not in that order). Being your own Advocate First things first, I want to express the importance of being your own advocate .  Being your own medical advocate is non-negotiable. Why? Because speaking up keeps doctors in the loop, helps you actually understand what’s going on, and puts you in the driver’s seat of your own care. Yes, there are medical professionals who obviously know their stuff, but no one knows your body like you do. If something feels off, say so. Be that squeaky wheel — the one that demand...
